Detavernier Strategic Communication sponsors the Belgian SciComm Network meetup that takes place on November 17, 2020.
On November 17, The Belgian SciComm Network will organize a virtual meet-up with a host of speakers (academics, journalists, etc.) to discuss the state of science communication.
We believe that there is no lack of critical challenges facing humanity at this moment. They pertain (among other things) to developing tests, cures and vaccines for COVID-19 (and soon: getting people to actually take the vaccines), the development and use of renewable energy in a effort to keep the impact of climate change as limited as possible and providing food to a growing population that is healthy, affordable and manufactured in a sustainable way.
It will take science to help solve the many challenges we face and it will take the very best effort from scientists, with the help from communications professionals, to make their case in front of an audience that is ill informed or – even worse – has been inundated during many years by misleading, false information. In order to support this effort, we are glad to sponsor this event.
Registration to the event can happen here. Recordings of a selection of sessions will be available after the event for people who have registered.
